About ITSIG	English (USA)
ITSIG is for discussion of Information Technology in NZ libraries. It is the discussion list for the Information Technology Special Interest Group of the Library and Information Association of New Zealand/Aotearoa. You don't have to be a member of the SIG or of LIANZA to subscribe (though it would be nice if you became a member of both!). ITSIG also has a Wiki for sharing resources. You need to be subscribed in order to post messages. Subscriptions have to be approved by the list owner. This means that (a) it is helpful if you show you're not a spambot by giving a real name as well as your email address (b) if you want to stop receiving messages for a while, it's better to disable mail delivery ("unsubscribe or edit options", below) rather than unsubscribe (c) if your email address changes, it's better to change your subscribed email address ("unsubscribe or edit options", below) rather than unsubscribe and resubscribe. Miscellaneous policies Messages to ITSIG should not advertise products and services, unless they are directly relevant to IT and libraries, and then should be occasional and informative. Comments made about people, products or organisations should be considered and responsible, and not defamatory. Messages to ITSIG can't be recalled/deleted once sent. Messages to ITSIG are the responsibility of the original sender. The list owner and Victoria University have no control over messages sent to the list. Please don't post copyright material to the list without the permission of the copyright holder. Using ITSIG
To post a message to all the list members, send email to itsig@lists.vuw.ac.nz. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to ITSIG
Subscribe to ITSIG by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
