NZ-Libs-Acquisitions is for information about materials that may be acquired by NZ libraries, for example, lists of materials available for free disposal. Advertisements should not be posted, but information about materials that are not available through conventional publishing channels may be appropriate. For general discussion about NZ libraries and information services, use NZ-Libs. You need to be subscribed in order to post messages. Subscriptions have to be approved by the list owner. This means that if you want to stop receiving messages for a while, it's better to disable mail delivery ("unsubscribe or edit options", below) rather than unsubscribe and if your email address changes, it's better to change your subscribed email address ("unsubscribe or edit options", below) rather than unsubscribe and resubscribe. Send messages in plain text, without attachments. Don't include images - this includes the logo in your signature file. If you have a long disposal list, it is better to put this on a website, then post the link to NZ-Libs-Acquisitions. Subject lines should indicate the type of material available. Messages to NZ-Libs-Aquisitions are the responsibility of the original sender. The list owner and Victoria University have no control over messages sent to the list. If you are subscribed to NZ-Libs-Acquistions, but can't post messages, it probably means you're sending messages from a different email address than the one subscribed - check your subscription below. If your address is for example a yahoo or gmail address which is not obviously associated with a library, please also email NZ-Libs-Acquisitions-owner@lists.vuw.ac.nz with a note of your role in libraries, to prove that you are not a spambot.
