Whether that be 100 hrs or 150 hrs, whatever, but that time needs to be there and agreed to by HOS or Head of Department. While some deans strongly promote the policy others would see it as a diversion from more important activities such as publication and research. Another point is that in theory HR and the probation process should ensure compliance with stated policy but the real checking-up and follow-through is not done as well, despite the fact that there are clear records of attendance, completion etc. provided by the Teaching and Learning Centre.
