[Foundations] Foundations Colloquium 29 and 30 September 2008

Dear Colleagues

 

Just a reminder that the 2008 Foundations Colloquium will be hosted by the
Teaching and Learning Development Unit at James Cook University on 29 and 30
September 2008. We hope to have our website and the draft program available
next week. We know that you may be keen to make travel and accommodation
bookings so we have set out below some information about the registration
process and accommodation options available. 

 

Registration 

The Colloquium will be held at: Rydges Southbank Hotel and Convention Centre
<http://www.rydges.com/hotel/0/RQTOWN/Rydges-Southbank-Townsville.htm> . The
registration fee is $175. This includes tea and coffee on arrival, morning
tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day. The fee does not include the
Colloquium Dinner. The Colloquium Dinner will be held at Reef HQ
<http://www.reefhq.com.au/home/visitor_info/location>  at 6.45pm on 29
September. Reef HQ is the world's largest living coral reef aquarium. Its
exhibits provide a real life encounter of the Great Barrier Reef with the
main attraction being a two and a half million litre coral reef exhibit that
replicates a natural reef ecosystem. The cost of the dinner is $60
(excluding drinks).  A registration form will be available on the Colloquium
website. 

The registration desk will open at 8.30am on 29 September for a 9.00am
start. We will be concluding the Colloquium with HERDSA sponsored
refreshments at 3.00pm on 30 September.

All accommodation listed below is a short walk from the Colloquium venue.
Government rates may apply if you book by phone or email directly to the
accommodation provider.
