Kia ora colleagues

You will have seen from the agenda that Faculty Board tomorrow morning has a veritable feast of guests and all three are connected with our current and future students. It'll be great to be able to hear from and talk with:


  *   Dr. Emma Dunlop-Bennett, our Assistant VC Pasifika, on the strategic direction of her office and ways in which we can work even more closely to support our Pasifika students at all stages of their academic journeys.
  *   Anna Greenhow from Careers and Employment is talking about the Alumni as Mentors Programme. It's an exciting initiative which connects our 2nd year students to mentors and employability - and Anna is clear that there are great opportunities for our FHSS students.
  *   Dr. Liz McKibben, our new colleague in VUWSA, has taken up a new role in the organisation as a 'postgrad Joseph Hapgood'.

There are proposals from Faculty Academic Committee to discuss, including a new major in Gender and Sexuality, a new Grad Cert Arts, some special topic offerings moving to permanent and an assessment approval request.

May all our students find the right rooms as well as new and good friends. May the wifi stand up for everyone. And I hope the start of the trimester is going well.
