Teaching and Learning in (Higher) Education for Sessional Staff – TALES
NEW FOR EARLY 2007
We are pleased to announce the forthcoming refereed scholarly journal
Teaching and Learning in (Higher) Education for Sessional Staff – TALES.
It seeks to publish scholarly discussion papers, research and reviews from
a range of fields and methodologies that will contribute to the
professional development of teaching and learning for sessional staff and
their colleagues. A further aim is to advance awareness of the
professional, scholarly and innovative approaches of sessional academic
staff and the significant contribution of sessional academic staff to the
higher education sector.
The journal welcomes contributions from part time and continuing
instructors, adjuncts, teaching assistants, researchers and other academic
or administrative staff. To meet acceptance criteria, papers must add to
the scholarship in the field, present ideas relevant to the broad higher
education sector, and be accessible to an English-language international
audience.
The first issue will showcase the breadth and high quality research
possible within the journal’s aims. Possible topics for submission
include:
· Student relationships & pastoral care
· Institutional policies & communities of practice
· Developing an academic career
· Peer support and collegiality
· Induction and professional development
· Student and staff evaluation
· Moderation, marking and assessment
· Flexible delivery & technology in teaching
· Pedagogy
· International and cross/cultural contexts
